Stage fright?

Bill: Well, we have stage fright of our own concerts.. I've always thought that we're the most nervous band. I couldn't imagine that there are other people who are that nervous as well.

Tom: But if you just take a look at the backstage area here, then…

Bill: …then you know that we're not the only ones [who are nervous]
Question (you can't see the question, but it's about rituals before a show)

Tom: Well, we actually never had a real ritual. The only thing is that Georg takes a dump before every show. Georg always says "I have to make "Kacko", and that's still the ritual which brings us luck as well.
Red Carpet

Vasta: We were all waiting for that moment – Tokio Hotel! … This is nuts! … Tokio Hotel! Oh my God! Here we go! It's getting loud… May I interpose myself between you pretty quick, before you go to your fans. Last year it sounded exactly like that, where were you?!

Bill: Yeah well, last year we didn't manage to come, unfortunately. We're happy to be finally here again. Uhm.. for us the Comet Award Show is always a big thing and we're happy that we managed to come this year.

Vasta: And how does it feel? I mean, you travelled around the world, does it leave you cold or is it still nervousness and beating of the heart to come to the Comet Awards?

Tom: Uhm… we're not that nervous anymore but it's still wonderful, definitely.

Bill: Yeah, definitely. I'm happy, we also just had a great concert [in Oberhausen] because we were on tour, and Oberhausen is always good.

Vasta: Who are you looking forward to today?

Tom: Uhm.. uhm.. uhm.. uhm..

Bill: .. to our nomination.

Tom: Yeah, exactly.

Vasta: Do you think that you'll get the award?

Tom: I hope so, I hope so.

Bill: Well, I know that our fans are very strong when it comes to votings, and I hope that this time they made it again. We'll see, but we definitely have hard competition. I think Rammstein are nominated, too. Won't be so easy.

Vasta: Okay, well, I wish you all the best, you'll get that thing! And we'll see us later and now go to your fans, it’s almost unbearable [the noise]!
Do's & Don'ts

Tom: Many people just want to come to us and have sex with us. So, you can clearly notice that.

Bill: This is like coming home, we just had a great concert here in Oberhausen, and.. uhm.. I have to say it always feels good to be here. Absolutely. Precisely because we live here, this is our home country, and that’s really cool.

Interviewer: Unblushingly said, by now you're already the granddads in the pop scene or also here at the Comet Awards. Justin Bieber moves up with the age of 16, who rocks the fans here as well, what do you think about him?

Bill: I haven't heard much about it so far, to be honest. Well, I just heard about him here at the Comet Awards. But yeah.. it's good if such a young person has success, I think it's good.

Interviewer: Is there a rivalry?

Tom: Uhm.. nah.. well, actually there's not much to say about it, I haven't faced up that much with it, so far.

Interviewer: But is there a rivalry between the teen-stars right now?

Bill: Well, I don't think so.. We aren't concerned with it so much.. I think we always make just our thing, and as you just said, we're already a bit the old-timers. We've been game since already five years, I think we were well received and we feel absolutely well.

Interviewer: Tom, I gotta address something – Viagra, what was going on? Please enlighten us!

Tom: Uhm.. I don't know that, you gotta ask a proper question, I don't know what to say about that..

Interviewer: You bought Viagra..?

Tom: I bought Viagra, yes.

Interviewer: And did you consume it?

Tom: I consumed it as well, yes.

Interviewer: You tried it?

Tom: But the difference is, the people always talk about it [Viagra] so bad, because it always sound like an accident. But you don't want an accident to happen once more, but I actually can't exclude it [to take Viagra again], to be honest.

Interviewer: How long did it [erection] last?

Tom: Uhm.. I can't tell that exactly, but it definitely lasted very long. But that's also good, now and then..

promiflash.de - Detlef D! Soost: Tokio Hotel-Geständnis!

[...]

[...]

Detlef D! Soost (well-known dancer & jury-member in casting-shows in Germany) about Tokio Hotel: "To be honest, should I tell the truth now? I am a TH-Fan. Because of a very simple reason: Everybody smashed their faces in at the beginning. But every time they stood up again. They went on stage again everytime and said 'We're gonna attack again!' You just gotta have respect for that!"

Article : TODAYonline - Tokio Hotel just can't stop the music

TOKIO Hotel have never been to Tokyo.

In fact, when the German rock quartet popped into Singapore three weeks ago, it was their first time visiting the region. However, they were so thrilled by the response of their fans here - and, yes, they do have fans here - they plan to return with a full show.

The band - twin brothers Bill (singer) and Tom Kaulitz (guitarist), bassist George Listing and drummer Gustav Schafer - are still tickled that they have fans halfway across the world. It's something they certainly didn't expect when they started Tokio Hotel as teenagers.

"When we started in Germany we were still in school. If someone told us five years later we'd be in Asia, I'd have said you're crazy," said Bill. "But here we are."

Still, success came at a price. "We don't have a private life any more," said Bill. "It's not possible to say, 'I want to be a superstar' and the next morning go down to the bakery. You can't just go out any more. But that's the decision you have to make."

Part of their international success stems from the fact that they've gone from just recording in German to recording in English as well.

Their new album, Humanoid - a marked departure from the hard rock sound of previous offerings, with an emphasis on electronica instead of distortion guitar - had both English and German versions released simultaneously. They previously released Scream (2007), a compilation of English versions of songs from their German releases Zimmer 483 and Schrei. Of course, detractors said they were selling out.

"The idea of the English versions was simple: We wanted everyone to have a chance to listen and understand the lyrics," said Tom. "But we started out by playing German and English songs, so it's like getting back to our roots."

Such naysayers are just the latest in a string of people the band has had to deal with since the very start. "The biggest challenge was that we were so young," said Bill, who turns 21 this year. "It was really a fight to speak to the record labels. Everyone had their idea of what we had to be, but we didn't really want to hear all that. We wanted to do our own thing."

"Everyone was thinking: They're kids, what do they know?" added Tom.

Well, these "kids" have performed at the Eiffel Tower to 500,000 people, and are taking their biggest show ever around the world. And they can't wait to bring it to Singapore. "It's the next level of our live show," said Tom. "I think it'll be good fun."

Even as the rest of the world is beginning to embrace Tokio Hotel, the band said they're already thinking of what to do next. "We want to get to the next level," said Tom. "For this album, we wanted to have this electronic sound, but maybe for the next record it's completely different."

Tokio Hotel's Humanoid is out in stores now.

Video : Nokio - Meet & Greet with Tokio Hotel - Download

Translation

Hello! I'm Natini (nb not sure about the spelling of her name), your Nokia reporter and we've just arrived in Düsseldorf. Now, we're on our way to the hotel where we'll meet the winners of the Meet & Greet with Tokio Hotel. I'm looking forward to see what we’re in for in a little while.
Together with our two winners, Niamh and Lisa, we're now sitting on the roof terrace of the InterConti and are waiting for the Meet & Greet with Tokio Hotel and first of all want to ask a few questions.

Is today the first time that you're meeting Tokio Hotel?
Niamh: Yes. Like, personally and up and close… Yes, that's the first time.

What's so special about Tokio Hotel?
Niamh: Well, definitely their looks. Meaning, a lot is definitely down to the outer appearance, I'd say. And the music adding to that and particularly that they were already making music prior to that. Meaning, [that they] have actually also been a group from an early age and... Yes, that maybe there hasn't already been anything like it in Germany before.

Describe the moment when you found out that you're going to meet Tokio Hotel now. Meaning, that you're the winners. What was it like for you in that moment?
Niamh: Well yes, so I received the email and at first I couldn't believe it at all and I was thinking "Nah, that can't be true now." And then I called her straight away. And now we're extremely excited. Also in school earlier, [and] have been all day. Definitely. I think, [it] will really be a day that one won't forget quickly anymore.

*Tokio Hotel arrive*

All saying hello...

Bill: Do we want to take pictures, first of all? Or what else?
Girls: Oh ja! Oh yes!

*picture time*

Niamh: I'm Niamh. That's Lisa. [we're] Both from Düsseldorf. Erm. [we have been] Fans since 2005.
Bill: So right from… the very beginning.
Niamh: Exactly. Well, actually [since] the, erm… Like [we have] also really [been fans] since the Comet. Your very first Comet.
Lisa: Yes, exactly from that day on, actually.
Georg: Cool.
Bill: Yes, we can [remember] that well.
Tom: That was also a very funny performance, I thought.
*all laughing, especially Bill*
Niamh: Why was it so funny.
Bill: Why was it so funny, Tom? Come on, tell.
Tom: Bill just looked very funny at that time.
Bill: Yes, I can remember it… I think it was like the most exciting award ceremony for all of us because it was our very first one.
Tom: And we were nominated subsequently. (nb after nominations had already been announced)
Bill: And we were nominated subsequently. That means, we have... Well, whenever I ... Whenever we're still seeing pictures even today, like in [picture] montages or something like that, when they get shown... erm, [then] I know that we've definitely been so very happy. Well, I think that was like the most exciting moment for us as a band. Back then when we realised "Ok, we're receiving such an award for the first time now and we're getting to be involved in it, with all those people."

Lisa: Are you still as excited nowadays as you were back then?
Tom: Well, especially because we're so much abroad now, erm, it's actually always rather, rather nice and relaxed for us now when we've got something scheduled in Germany and we're actually more looking forward to it than being, erm, extremely nervous.
Bill: I think, we're just super nervous prior to concerts and such things, right? Meaning, when we're on tour. We're actually nervous every day then.

Niamh: Erm, die Georg take a sh*t prior [to concerts]?
Bill: Georg took a sh*t. Definitely. Georg, Georg took a sh*t prior to every concert. Like, definitely.
Tom: Yes.
Georg: Every time prior… yes.
Bill: Well, I think, you even went four times in Rome.
*all laughing*
Bill: That was also a very good show. *laughing*
Gustav: A new record on tour.
Bill: Yes, that wasn't bad. Nah like, we're also really forcing him to do it. Meaning, he also really has to go.

*complete question not included* Niamh: [...] in Tokyo?
Bill: Yes, Tokyo still [has] not happened yet... We've had, we've had a pretty bad experience, just now. Namely we had a fortune teller in... erm... Where was it? Taipei?
Tom: Yes.
Bill: Well, we've had a fortune teller there and he then [...] us, erm... Well, actually it was like two birds that were picking cards and we asked, when... What did we ask again? When we'd get to Tokyo or if we'd [get there] at all...
Tom: Nope, if we'd get to go to Tokyo some time this year.
Bill: That's it. They said… not so much.
Tom: Doesn't look like it.
Bill *laughing*: Doesn't look like it, right? So, they said, we wouldn't get to Tokyo just yet. Even though we're actually intending [to go]. Meaning, we actually want to [go] as soon as possible. Meaning, hopefully this year. However, if not [this year], then in the beginning of next year.

How does one feel after such a meeting?
Lisa: Well yes, it was definitely very exciting and erm… Yes, I think, it has to sink in a bit at first. It was...
Niamh: Yes, they were very, very nice. Just like one also knows them from the TV, that's how they also came across, I thought. And I think that’s really good. Meaning, I really liked it. Was awesome.

Finally, both of you are getting a Nokia 5310 Music Express each now.
Girls: Many thanks.
Have fun with it.

Well, that was the meeting, the Meet & Greet with Tokio Hotel. It went well. The two lucky winners drove home and Tokio Hotel are also on the road again. And we're also getting on our way, now. Bye.

And for the the first time Tom Kaulitz comments on his allegdly love-doping.

Tom: I have bought viagra, yes.

Reporter: Consumed?

Tom: Consumed also.

While her hair is combed, Tokio Hotel have already arrived. Also in the career of the Magdeburger boys one higlights hunts the other and during their Asia-tour Tom has proven a lot of stamina.

Tom: I have bought viagra, yes.

Reporter: Consumed?

Tom: Consumed also.

Reporter: Tried?

Tom: But the difference is...the thing is that people always talk so terribly about it, because it always sounds like an accident or something. You don't want an accident to happen once again, but I can't exclude it, to be honest.

Reporter: How long did it last?

Tom: I can't tell you exactly...but anyhow very, very long...which was quite well in between.

Tokio Hotel won in the category "Best Liveact". And during the four, scooter and pocher celebrated at the ASP... [and then video stopps, because nothing more about Tokio Hotel]

The new video release, the next destinations, Georg's wedding, Bill's girlfriend, and more!

Sascha: Well, then tell me what you experienced in the last weeks…

Bill: Well, we were in Asia, and uhm… yeah, we had a concert there, a small one, and we met our fans there for

the first time, so to say it was the very first start

Tom: Oh yes, that was really good.

Bill: ...that was very exciting because you fly so far and then it's a totally different culture and totally different people, and the people can sing along though.

Tom: We had a good show.

Bill: ..yeah, we had a good show.

Tom: In Malaysia we had a real show, how long did we play? An hour or something..

Georg: Yeah..

Tom: ..and then, uhm.. then we were in Taiwan, we had a small acoustic session there. It was really good.

Sascha: What is the craziest thing which happened to you in the last time?

Bill: The craziest thing… Well, Sascha, I don't know it!

Sascha: But was there one thing in Asia, which happened to you, where you thought "Woah, crazy!"?

Tom: We ate crazy things..

Bill: Yeah, we ate some weird stuff.. well, once we went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner with a colleague, and there we tried some desserts. Some weird stuff, which you actually don't get here and…

Tom: We're vegetarians, so we had been discussing the whole day with all the people there and yeah.. we ate Chinese food and tried vegetarian stuff, some vegetables and fruits, which you just know there and which are also growing just there, and I also don't know anymore what kind of food it was, but the one or other tasted really weirdly.

Bill: So, they were really things which you don't know here.

Woman: Did you also have diarrhea once? *laughs*

Bill: That is Georg's special topic.

Georg: I can't remember anymore, actually.

Tom: I can remember that something … (sorry, I didn't get it, Tom is mumbling too much) … But he always has a bit diarrhea …

Sascha: Are you careful with the food then?

Bill: Uhm.. well, as long as it's vegetarian, I'm really willing to try it, but of course I was a bit afraid in China, we actually weren't there, but there you eat cats and dogs and so on as well, which is really a no-go for me. Of course I informed myself why this happens and so, and I find it really really horrible, but as long as I knew what it was and that it wasn't an animal, we tried it, so we were really… But you know us, we're always really usual, we always eat just pizza, pizza and pasta, and there [in Asia] it was like that, too, actually. We tried some things out…
Tom: It was just once…

Bill: In a TV-Show we also drank such a weird drink and...

Georg: … tea with milk or something..

Bill: ..yeah, tea with milk

Georg: ..and such small jelly balls..

Bill: ..but it was really cool, because we had a kind of big drinking straw and the small jelly ball came through this..

Tom: Speaking of crazy things… the craziest thing which happened to us in Asia was at the arrival. As soon as you arrived you have to sign something which says that you get punished with the death penalty if you bring along drugs..

Bill: They cut your head off! *laughs* No…

Tom: No.. but kinda.. means that you have to sign something which says that if you bring drugs along with you, and you also don't know exactly what is allowed and what's not allowed, then they cut your head off..

Georg: You just have to bring along the wrong medicament with you, then it’s over..

Sascha: Okay.. but you didn't have something with you, right?

Bill: No, we didn't have drugs..

Woman: Did anyone offer you something?

Tom: Well, you stand there in Singapore and they're very very strict, so all in all it was the cleanest city I've ever seen..
Bill: You barely get out there..

Tom: You're also not allowed to spit chewing gums on streets and so on..

Bill: But I made it anyway!

Tom: Really?

Sascha: And nothing happened?

Bill: I didn't think of it in that moment! I really didn't think of it! Everybody told me first "Don't do that!", but then I was sitting in the car and…

Tom: But I'm gonna make a phone call and at the next trip…

Bill: … but Singapore was really impressing, all of us didn't expect that, it was really the most beautiful city I’ve been to in a long time. It was really really beautiful, we had a great hotel and a really good time, so… yeah, it was really good.

Sascha: What are you planning to do in the next time?

Bill: Next we'll go to Asia again, we're gonna do another MTV Worldstage there, and we'll be in China for the first time, we'll be in a TV show there and yeah, first we'll be in Asia again.

Tom: Besides we're always planning. Currently we're having a rather relaxing time, we're just back from our tour, so to say…

Bill: And of course our Tour DVD will be released, in July, but don't ask me about the exact date…

Tom: In summer, definitely

Bill: In summer… and the Live album… Tom and me just released the final cuts of the Live DVD, it will be really good, we recorded the concert in Milan. And it just goes on.. we want to play a tour in South America this year, and there also will be more concerts in Asia…

Woman: Do you even get around to do sports, do you have hobbies or so..?

Bill: No, but we never have been doing sports so far, well I have to say that I’m totally unathletic. I went on the treadmill for the tour, but it was unnecessary.

Georg: 2 times?

Bill: No no no, this time I did it really intensely. I have to defend myself, I really pulled it through, I was with Tom…
Tom: For two weeks…

Bill: … I was even on the treadmill in my vacation..

Tom: But Tom doesn't go running…

Bill: I see.. no, I just wanted to get condition and… but you totally can forget that..

Woman: But doesn't it have a bad effect when you can't do sports that extremely..?

Tom: Well, it's simple, of course I just look better…

Bill: Well, I never have been doing sports, so I don't know that, but I'm living unhealthy anyway.. I smoke like a chimney and eat pizza all day long..

Tom: You smoke?!

Bill: Nah, just now and then…

Sascha (to Tom): But you do sports?

Tom: (doesn't let Gustav answer) Just when I get round to do it.. I'm not a sport fetichist.

Georg: Nah, but Tom is.. he's actually everyday at McFit's.

Woman (to Gustav and Georg): And what about you two? Are you doing sport?

Tom: Georg just waited for the moment in which you'll ask him about that… And yes, Georg works out…

Georg: Now and then..

Tom: We actually call him the thoroughly fit Leonardo di Caprio.

Sascha: And Gustav?

Bill: With Gustav the question arises..

Tom: Gustav is "Dickie" (like "tubbo" or something).

Sascha: But why are you actually dissing him [Gustav] all the time?

Bill: Him? Just see what Georg gets..!

Sascha: But Gustav always gets dissed and you say that he is too fat.

Bill: In fact, Tom and me get discriminated all day long in this world! […] (they're just mumbling a bit, I can't understand it)

Bill: But as soon as the door closes, it's us who get dissed and then there's a lot going on!

Sascha: Then you shellac them?

Georg: Yeah..

Sascha (to Gustav): Is it mean if they're dissing you in interviews all the time?

Georg: That's totally mean..

Gustav: That's "doofi" (doof = dumb), I find it really "blödi" of them.. (blöd = stupid) [He always puts an "i" to the end of the word, it sounds more childish]

Tom: But.. but.. but what else.. Bill has a girlfriend..

Sascha: What's her name? Bill: Oh Tom, man!

Sascha: What's her name? Bill: ...Jacqueline. *laughs*

Woman: From Magdeburg?

Georg: Jacqueline Chantal.

Bill: She has short, red hair. *laughs*

Bill: No, it hasn't happened anything new..

Woman: Why doesn't it work?

Sascha (to Tom): What about you?

Tom: No, same here.. not a solid relationship, at least… I want to have a solid relationship, I told it already once…

Bill: But Georg is still in a relationship with his girlfriend *claps hands*

Sascha: Wedding? Engagement?

Georg: Well…

Bill: Ja ja, he's been planning it all the while!

Tom: He's urging for it, because he can have sex for the first time after wedding.

Bill: Maybe we can give here a hidden message that actually Georg wants to get a wedding proposal. He doesn't want to propose to his girlfriend, he actually wants to GET a wedding proposal.

Georg: Nah, first we'll shoot "Georg and … in love" and then…

Tom: But to be honest, we're actually thinking about what we’ll do when Georg becomes a father..

Bill: Yeah… it could happen..

Tom: In the studio I play the bass anyway.. but on tour it will be a problem..

Sascha: Do you actually want to have children soon?

Georg: No, not soon.

Sascha: But somewhen..?

Georg: Somewhen… with 40.

Woman (to Bill): Will you babysit then?

Bill: Huh?

Woman: Will you babysit then?

Bill: No way!

Georg: For God's sake! … I won't give them my children!

Bill: But I think I'm actually not capable to do it.. I have to say we're fully stretched with our 4 dogs, in principle that’s like to have children..

Tom: But I have to say, I have very good names for my own children.. I actually don't want to have children, but I would have good names for them..

Bill: Yeah, but you don't want to say that name, so why do you tell it?

Tom: No no no, I won't tell it, I'm just saying..

Bill: We actually often talk about the names of our children, but we don't want to have children..

Tom: I'm creative when it comes to finding names..

Georg: Tom Junior!

Sascha: Bill Junior… Billette.

Sascha (to Gustav): And you're single, too?

Gustav: Yes..

Sascha (to Bill): So, Adam Lambert is totally in love with you, how do you find that?

Bill: I actually don't know about that exactly.. I have to say that I actually don't know him..

Sascha: But he told me that.

Bill: I don't know him exactly.. or rather I don't know him at all.

Tom: We always get asked about Adam Lambert, but we don't know him..

Bill: No, we don't know him, I've never met him, so far. I don't know a lot of his music at all, I just saw his a bit of his video and the song, but I don't know him at all.

Woman: Would you actually like to get to know him?

Bill: Uhm.. I can't say that.. It depends on how he is.. well, if you meet somewhere, then of course, why not.. but it hasn't happened so far.

Sascha: Okay, then…

Woman: Thank you.
